Operating lease:
The company entered into a lease agreement on August 1, 2005. The monthly
rent is $15,500 per month and the term of the lease is 36 months with an
option to renew for 2 years. There is no escalation clause in the lease
agreement.
The annual lease payment is:
2005 (prior year):$77,500
2006 (current year): $186,000
2007: $186,000
2008: $108,500
Questions:
1. Determine the correct rent expense
2. Prepare a corrected lease schedule

发帖数: 658 | 3 No, the original question is like this but this is only one of the lease
transactions. There should not be any journal entries for 2004 anyway.
Sorry about that:
The questions should be changed to:
1. Determine the correct rent expense
2. Prepare a corrected lease schedule
3. Prepare any annual adjusting entries needed for 2005, &2006
assuming books are not closed in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
