Hey, I had the same problem before. I don't know what causes your problem.
But mine was something wrong in the file system's catalog file. Fixed by
running Norton Disk Doctor. Maybe after you boot OS9, run disk utility
to verify your OS X partition. | n***n

One thing is to use shift key to safe log in(shut down all extension. You can
save all you data. then you can start from Os 9, run disk utility
