It seems to me that GV mobile kills SMS of AT&T, Skype has the potential
to kill the air time of AT&T.
However, each plan has a certain amount of air time, but not necessarily SMS.
Maybe this is the reason.
It is also possible that at&t gets subsidy from the calls made on skype.
Again, money talks alone.

Since GV will use the AT&T air time, I was also wondering why AT&T has
banned it from iPhone.

t, but it kills at&t sms. On the other hande, at&t has already get enough
money
from customers for air time and it is possibly also subsidized from skype.

And that's quite often the case with online conversations, plus, English tense probably doesn't make much sense for many of us
(I said I *was* wondering, meaning I stopped wondering after I read your explanation). ;-)
