Dropbox requires network conection to work. You can set some files to be
favorites, but you can't set all of them.
With acrosync, once files are synced they become local. You can open them
anywhere.

currently I mount the iphone/ipad as a local directory through sshfs for the
desktop to sync files. Which is not convenient because I have to operate on
the desktop.
You app seems nice, however, limited by apple, once you send the file to
other apps, you can not get it back after editing.
Also, any difference than the build-in syncing function of Goodreader? |

问个问题，记得dropbox app可以选本地储存大小，是不是即便选了无限大，不点具体

可是iPad是移动的，这样没有dropbox方便呀。

发帖数: 97 | 8 Acrosync不是用来代替Dropbox.
如果你真想随时随地访问你自己的机器，有两种办法：
1）在路由器上打开机器的端口，同时安装dyndns
2）买一个vps server（如果你已经有dreamhost，他家的personal backup可以直接用,
50G free）
另外，可以把你所有Dropbox文件备份到你的ipad，只要你用Acrosync同步上mac/linux
的Dropbox目录.

it starts a server, and then you need to operate on the computer to initiate
the sync.
There are some some sync apps that allow you to initiate the sync from
iphone/ipad, but they all require installing proprietary software on the
computers.
Acrosync is the only sync app that sync the right way without requiring
installation of server software.
In other words, turn your mac/linux into a remote sync server without
installation.

goodreader 可以通过FTP，SFTP，WebDav， 等协议连上自己设置的服务器， 当然也可
以连上
dropbox，sugarsync 等cloud 服务器，然后选定其中一个目录同步到IPAD/Iphone 本
地。 以后本地或
服务器任意一端做了修改，只要点“sync”按钮就可以把最新的文件同步到另一端。
大部分linux/Mac都开有SSH服务，所以在desktop上无须安装任何软件就可以用SFTP同
步了。
其实所有类似同步程序都有一个通病， 就是文件只能保存在这个程序的目录下。你可
以把文件发送到
别的程序做修改，却往往无法把修改好的文件发送回来同步到服务器上。这才是最让人
头疼的。

Still, SFTP was *not* designed for syncing directories. You can use it to copy a
single file or a few files, but try it on
a directory with many subdirectories and thousands of files, you will know
what I mean.
Acrosync is based on rsync. It is the only rsync client in the app store.
