Nadine Hairston was minding her own business on a field trip with her fellow
third-graders, enjoying a life-size sculpture of a whale, when she felt
something sharp pierce her leg.
"First I felt shock and looked down," the 8-year-old said Wednesday. "I was
sliding down … but had an arrow in my leg."
Nadine was rushed from Lawrence Hall of Science Tuesday in Berkeley, Calif.,
to a hospital where doctors surgically removed the 2-foot-long crossbow
arrow. The arrow punctured a fleshy part of her leg and missed major
arteries.
Teachers and students came to Nadine's aid after they saw the arrow
protruding out of her leg. Nadine said the random arrow struck her when she
was coming down the slide outside the Lawrence Hall of Science.
"I don't know if they were aiming for me or just the whale. I have no idea,"
Nadine said.
Michael Whiteley was chaperoning another group of children when the arrow
came darting from the sky.
"A kid ran up to me and said Nadine was shot with an arrow, which, you know,
I thought couldn't possibly be true," he said.
Nadine's teacher rode to the hospital with her and played Taylor Swift songs
to calm her down.
Authorities are investigating where the wayward arrow came from, speculating
that a small-game hunter or a reckless sportsman in the area could be
responsible.
"It's certainly possible that it just might be an accident. A careless
accident at the very least, but it could also be considered a violent felony
," Berkeley Police Sgt. Andrew Tucker said Tuesday.
This isn't the first time a child has been struck by an errant arrow. In
Wisconsin last year, 7-year-old Aryanna Schneeberg was struck in the back by
a hunting arrow while she was pushing a doll stroller. The ordeal left
Aryanna, who suffered lung and spleen injuries, and her family with few
answers about how she unwittingly became a target.
"She's angry because this happened and she doesn't understand why this
happened to her when she hadn't done anything wrong," Aryanna's mother,
Laura Beth, said.
Nadine is expected to arrive back at school today for a half day so she can
ease back into a normal routine.
"It's like a dream and weird at the same time," Nadine said. "Because you
think you're dreaming when you see an arrow and it's also weird because it
usually never happens."

自打买了传统弓，我每天都在家里不上箭练习开弓。对于保持肌肉和练习持弓稳定还是

呵呵，弓还是有寿命的，不过拉几千次应该没问题吧？Ikea那个什么破椅子，就那种材
料，不是还整天在店里展示着被压无数次不会坏？

保存，对弓的影响就更小了。

比如singlecam复合弓，弓弦有两根，一根是string，另一根是control cable，都用高
强度的纤维做成。
每根弦是由很多股（２０－２４）细弦组成，每股细弦又是很多股更线的纤维组成。即
使是在放松情况下，弦都是绷得相当紧的，有一定的摩擦，就可能造成纤维的断裂。纤
维断裂到一定数量，弓弦的整体承受能力就会受影响。正常的维护是打腊，给它表面加
一个保护膜，减小摩擦造成的影响。打腊还会保护已经产生的小毛不再继续撕裂扩散。
在正常使用情况下，腊会逐渐被弹掉，所以腊要常打。如果在打腊之间已经看到有大量
的细毛出现，出于安全角度考虑，就要考虑换弦。如果发现有单股弦断裂，应立即更换。
我原装的cable只用了半年，结果发现cable roller那个位置把cable的磨损很厉害，$
14换了。

不过现在它也张价了，cable是$20，string的也涨了，具体您看看这儿：

能买到。另外，我没有Bow Press，所以必须拿到店里请店员给我换，所以我以为14刀
是换弦的手工费。
