He make a check to cash, bank hands him the money and he hands them to you.
You take the cash to your bank and deposit them.
I have done that many times, never have any problem.

或者跟他去银行开CASHIER check，这样check应该是真的，再给TITLE。 |

During this period, the money can be asked back.
