SIGN时没停下来, 开了罚单. 后来收到邮件罚了$220. 如去TRAFFIC SCHOOL, 另加$50.
这是我来美开车10多年来第一次被开罚单, 我想在网上问一下, 我应该怎么做?
1. 如期去法庭, 如那位女警察不到场, 罚单自动取消, 我就没事了. 如那位女警察
到场, 争取向法管减免罚款, 好像一般可以降到$150左右.
2. 罚单上写, 每月第一或第三个星期二下午四点半可去法庭. 原文如下
ON OR BEFORE 10/12/2010 AT 8:15AM or you may appear prior to this date at
night court held the first and third Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm for
infraction violation of the Vehicle Code only.
3. 去TRAFFIC SCHOOL, 以钱省事.

you can skip arraignment by sending in the check for the bail, and write
"not guilty" on the check.
if the cop doesn't show up, ticket dismissed.
if she does show up, ask for reduction of fine, and ask for traffic
school.

The problem is that the date to have completed traffic school is the same as my court date, thus the implication is that I need to have completed traffic school by the court date.

#2 the dates you listed is arraignment.
you go there, if you plea guilty, you pay the fine. if you plea not
guilty, you pay the bail (same amount as the fine), and will be assigned a
trial date.
you should receive a notice with detailed instruction in the mail. if you
don't get that 2 weeks before the date on the ticket, call the court

I'm concerned that if I wait until my court date, I may forfeit my opportunity to go to traffic school.
