complication，此后又出现反复，需要在家休息不能上班。请问这种情况自己可以和对
方保险公司谈索赔吗？索赔金额是不是所有医疗费，误工费加在一起？谢谢！ |

了。如果仅仅是修车也许还可以自己处理一下。 |

发帖数: 250 | 5 跟律师谈过了，说我们自己可以去谈，因为他们谈要收赔偿金的1/3.难度有哪些，能不
能具体说几点，有个准备。还有这个赔偿金额怎么算呢，除了医疗费用和误工费，我也
想不出还有哪些费用了。难道律师有本事所要精神损失费什么的。

they sue for medical bills x 3, hosptical/doctor gets 1/3, lawyer gets
1/3, you get 1/3
let's say your medical bill is $5000, lawyer will put $5000 into your
pocket at the end.
or you can spend few dozens hours on research, filling out forms, and
fighting with insurance company to get $1000 into your own pocket.
we all hate lawyers, and hate insurance's claim department, but there are
cases you need to fight evil with evil.

as much I can get and even the doctor gets 1/3? This is not a bribe? Anyway,
I don't care as long as the lawyer can save my time and get the amount I
deserve. But I really don't understand how they can get $5000 x 3 if the
billing statment only says $5000. Please tell me. Thanks a lot!

car accident three years ago. Based on the 3x theory and considering saving
time/energy, I hired a lawyer. My medical bill was $4000+. The lawyer was
only able to settle with the insurance for $8000+. He grabbed the 1/3 of the
total. And the final net for me was about $900. |

your state. But if you don't approach them now, it's harder to link your
medical condition with the accident.

only $4K. I think the only reason he went to a doctor was to claim some

soooooo much: my brand-new car was totaled and both my friend and I had
whiplash; Hers was more serious than mine; But the driver didn't look sorry
at all. So I wanted the driver and his insurance company to pay as much as
possible. Unfortunately I met a lame lawyer who had kept pursuading me to go
to court for more claim. I didn't have the energy to go that far. Then as
time went by, my hate faded. So and so, a lazy me and a lame lawyer made
this an unsuccessful case.
To answer LZ's question: (8000+) - (4000+) - (8000+/3) was about 900. Can't
remember the exact numbers.
