站，把油枪上可以自动跳停的装置去除了，请问各位听说过吗？ 有什么好办法解决吗？如果没有这个
方便跳停装置，我不知道什么时候才加满。有什么好建议吗？

Why did gas-pump trigger locks disappear?
Q. Over the past few months I've noticed that the trigger locks on gas
pumps are now missing. At first I thought it was just me, and I was
going to a pump that was broken or something. Now I've been to a dozen
stations with them missing. Why are the pumps no longer automatic? The
other day, I pulled the pump out after it was done and gas spilled out.
I haven't had that happen when it stops automatically with a trigger
lock. Do you know what’s up?
A. It’s not surprising that you’ve run across so many stations that have
ditched their nozzle latches. There are as many as 3,000 stations
statewide that don’t have latches on their pumps, according to the
California Service Station and Automotive Repair Association, an
industry advocate. That’s one-third of the state’s filling stations,
meaning lots of Thanksgiving weekend drivers won’t be able to check the
map for a fourth time, wash the car’s windows, or search out a potently-
caffeinated beverage while the petrol tank fills.
In August, the state Fire Marshal’s Office ordered latches removed from
a particular brand of nozzle, because there were reported problems of
drivers getting splashed when filling up. Stations had until Oct. 15 to
comply, which is why so many gas station customers now get to babysit
the gas pump while filling.
All the affected nozzles were manufactured by a company called Vapor
System Technologies. Station owners may have to pay up to $350 per
nozzle to replace them, said Sunny Campbell, the Service Station
association’s executive director. They can leave the latches off, but
Campbell said frustrated drivers have gotten creative with substitutes.
“They use wallets, keys, sunglass holders, tennis balls – you name it,”
Campbell said.
Cal Fire officials say doing that is a definite fire hazard.
Meanwhile, a lot of station owners are not happy.
“A lot of people have lost business. A little old lady comes in to buy
gas; she doesn’t want to stand there and hold that nozzle,” Campbell
said. “We felt there could have been a better decision from the state.”
While the fire marshal has cited reports of spills with the latch on the
nozzle, Campbell said he’s heard reports of spills happening even when
they’ve been removed ... as David noted above.
The road ahead: Speaking of Thanksgiving turkey – the official and
favorite holiday of Mello Behind the Wheel – the Air Transport
Association has predicted that 24 million travelers will brave security
scrutiny to fly to their T-day destinations this year. ATA says a
stronger economy accounts for the predicted 3.5-percent passenger growth
over last year.

有次在Dallas出差，还车前加油，油满时油枪不自动停，油都喷出来啦。加油站的人拿
水把地面冲了冲，因为是公司保销，也就没有向加油站索赔。 |
