发帖数: 321 | 13 Snow tires are a must. AWD may get you moving, but snow tires will help
you stop. AWD won't. If it's an either/or, snow tires.
Unless you have a crazy driveway (or your work place does) studded winters
and 2WD is sufficient; AWD just lets you get stuck farther from home.
Be aware though that it isn't just $2K up front as AWD forces you to get
the large engine and even when everything else is equal AWD incurs a
significant fuel economy penalty (16/22 vs 18/24). Plus AWD requires more
maintenance.

is basically a FWD grand caravan with VW's suspension & interior. You will
have leather seats/navigation/RES etc for under 30K.
For AWD, only minivan option is Sienna in US. Or large SUV or cross-over.
2010 or 2011 Chevy Traverse (either FWD or AWD) has at least $3000 incentive
cash expires 1/3/11. The cargon/head/leg room are slightly less than
minivan, but it offers a quiet ride than minivan (at least better than Odyssey).
If you need minivan-like space, for 30K, you can also consider a used 2009/
2010 Suburban or Yukon -- it has 8 seats (can be configured to 9 if you choose bench front seat), large cargo behind the 3rd row, has a solid truck frame & weigh over 1/2 ton (or 3/4 ton for 2500 trim), they are probably the safest civilian vehicle against crashes from other cars. |

发帖数: 5754 | 19 I just went thru the excercise (search thru T&C, Routan, Chevy and Honda
dealers) and bought my minivan (odyssey). Actually a Honda dealer offers a
lower price than mine just after I completed my transaction (EX-L, before
TTL price is just over 30K -- so for EX ithe OTD shall be < 30K).
For Chevy cars, apply online for a free USAA memebership and get $1000
rebate. Other rebates are also available (say if you have GM credit card,
BJs or CSCO card, etc) but need to confirm with the dealer.
For Routan, local dealers quote $8000 below invoice before any haggling.
If you are in NJ/NYC area, message me and I'll forward you the dealers info.
