my 2008 328xi wagon is having so much issues, i am in the process of trading
it in for a Japanese car. Luckily, the warranty is still here till next
month.
My battery died last week, it was not covered, it cost me almost $700 at the
end. The run-flat tires are wron out, it would cost me over $2K to replace
them. I only had about 35K miles on the car.
Then the eccentic shaft sensor died last week, causing the car not starting
and damaged the eccentric shaft. this was covered by warranty, but the bmw
told me that the total repair charge they charged to BMW was $4800. It would
be a lot higher they charge me.
BMW is utterly unreliable after certain age. It is common to see old Corolla
from the 1970s and 1980s still running on the streets, but you would never
see an old bmw.
It is fun to drive them, but once the warranty is over, trade it in. I didn;
t have much problem with the car until recently. Now I know why the re-sale
value of the car is so low compare to other Japanese lux cars like Acura and
Lexus.
