所以是他们一开始搞错了，所以朋友说太贵，就取消吧，结果来一帐单说要额外交将近
５００块，就是因为她提前cancel，不交就交给讨债公司。我的问题是，这５００应该
交吗？他们随便涨价人家才取消的，感觉progressive故意算错，让人家买，然后就给
人涨价，另外一个朋友也被涨价。
如果不交，会如何？或者能不能讨价还价一下？希望知道的朋友回复一下，多谢了

I understand that the remaining balance from canceling the policy is high,
but when we cancel a policy, the premium is divided into two categories: the
cost for the period it was active and the cost associated with the period
it was not active. We earn the cost of the policy for the active period and
certain percent of the non-active period. This is earned because we
processed the policy with the expectation that it would run its full term.
It did not run its full term because of the cancellation.
When a cancellation is calculated, it is based on the following factors:
1) we take the unpaid balance
2) minus the unearned premium
3) plus any cancel fee that may be applied (no fee for your policy)
4) minus any suspended cash for the policy (no suspended cash).
Once these four steps are calculated, this gives us the final balance or
refund that is due for the policy. In your case, after this was calculated,
the remaining balance due is the amount of $498.08. |

mentioned?
which state is her in? some states have law to protect the customers, so
people can switch insurance companies whenever they want.
i am not sure about Progressive, but i just did an
early cancellation with Geico and switched my insurance to Liberty Mutual. There was no cancellation fee whatsoever. |

但你也该问清楚，这$498.08到底是怎么来的，每项里都都是钱。我估计是第一项比较
多，unpaid balance就得400刀左右。同时要问清楚，他们是给算的是哪一天insurance
policy ends。
同时，和他们argue，他们开始告诉你每个月200多，结果你的啥info都没变，但他们却
变成400多了，是他们工作失误，你现在要cancel，他们还有脸要当初给你“processed
the policy”的费用。这个他们真的不该在厚着脸去要的。 |

貌似Cancel后他们还必须保留全险长达7天还是14天？
