than the ES. I remember the rule of thumb is that bigger cars have some
advantage over small cars. Thus, I just wonder that slighter larger and
heavier ES 350 - with the similar price range - would be more or less safe
compared with BMW 3 series. This may help me deciding the next car purchase
in terms of safety. Thanks.

model to buy. Nobody denies that Explorer, the mid-size SUV, is probably
safer than a mid-size sedan.
I really wonder about the safety aspects upon collision among those
comparable so-call 'entry-level luxury' sedans. Thanks.

了Fuel Cut-Off，只要有碰撞，先切断火源。Toyota还没进化到这一步。我说老公司的
安全性更值得相信是有根据的。

the Lexus to catch fire was that the car rolled over a few times before
coming to a stop - not because of the collision with the Ford. But you're
right in that it's the fire that killed the people given they couldn't
escape due to the car's deformation after the rolling over.
This accident seems to be an isolated case though.

发帖数: 2284 | 10 By the way, it's not that Ford has revolutionized or evolved to have this
shut-off feature, it's just that Ford had to. The real reason is that in the
90's Ford had a cruise control unit problem that it cannot be turned off
even when the car is off, which may cause a Ford to catch on fire by itself
and which led to its 10,000,000 units being recalled. Hence the shut-off
mechanism had to be installed.
I'm not sure whether other brands followed this practice or not.

去年加拿大的华人开在大雨中也是小车祸起火烧死。
几年前一对父子开Toyota也是小车祸起火，儿子逃出，父亲被烧死。
这几年因为起火Toyota recall了无数次，一共900万辆。search toyota fire recall.

side power window! What a silly (stupid) mistake! Where those cars were
manufactured anyway?!

partically take back what I said. The LFA was only a prototype and was said
to be not even equipped with regular safety devices like a family sedan,
such as bumpers, extensive air bags. The LFA is a race car and is made from
carbon fiber, which is hard and resistant to bend, but brittle on impact.
Thus, LFA should not be compared with the 3 series in terms of safety - that
's apple and oranges.

这个世纪的Ford有碰撞就切断火，碰撞起火几率很小，和benz, bmw, gm一样小。
这个世纪的冠军是Toyota。Toyota起火recall超过上个世纪的ford了。

明明是３８万美元碳纤维的LFA被普通车撞死了还找理由。撞车的地点在测试轨道上。
BMW也是正在测试的未上市的车。

因为lfa没有超速也不是在跑道上而穿越了中线，所以有人推测lfa的驾驶员突发心脏病
撞车前就挂了。
两车的驾驶舱都完好。

有。另外，我所看到美国的新闻里，总是丰田撞车起火烧死人。每年都有很多。其它品
牌起火的新闻少的很。
