plus stats is not only used in psych
the idea of extracting signal from noise is everywhere
plus plus, in some branches the effects are so salient no trick or
worry of stats are bothered

Each time you elude my questions about yourself. hehe.
That's fine for me though.
In terms of statistics in psych or social psych, I think
in western world they
explored it pretty much futher and make it more like a
science.
Short example, one important question in scientific study
is repetition.
Statistics can tell you to which extent your result can be
replicated. Maybe this
is not the ultimate science, but it is closer.

such an old yet big topic for psych ppl.
wonder if you guys would like to write sth to at least clarify the
general idea that psych is sth to do or all about freud and
psychotherapy. maybe it's coz psych is so small an area
back in china, it seems that ppl here in the states know
what geeks in psych really do while ppl from china still
carry the steorotype idea or misconception that psych is
psycho-analysis
