As in Linsanity scenario, Lin is the golden child and fans here are the
typical chinese parents.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it obviously shows love.
high expectation is alright in lin's case, this kid does show something
special.
but to much "over -xxxx" just too hardcore. laying back a little bit,
enjoying the show, having fun, appreciating the journey seems better to me | d*****9

hope of leveling the field for more asian kids to join the game?
The status quo is always difficult to break, but Martin Luther King did it
for the blacks. Who are you to say that Lin and his fans can't do similar
things for the asians?

are too good to be in the need of mlk.
Lin is sports icon, he will take the challenge and evolve himself to be all
star pg in the coming few years.

sad.
Most of Asian kids are nerds who have no skill of public relation.

Just looking at this thread, how many chinese men are "afraid" of speaking
up and "afraid" of making the rules better for chinese. Seriously, a slave
would have more nerves.
If MLK can rewrite the rule for the whole society, what do we have to be
afraid of if all we want to do is to rewrite the rules for the NBA?
If my kid wants to play in the NBA for the money, for the glamor, or for
whatever the reason is, I want to be able to say, "go ahead, son. If the
rule is bad for you, we are going to change it so you can play." If that's
not good parenting & role model, I don't know what is.

is Kidd the only one ever commited f foul in nba history?
Did Kidd foul Lin because Lin is Chinese?
I didn't see any "rewrite the rule" in all those complaining, because that
foul has NOTHING to do with race, it's BASKETBALL! Kidd hugged and
encouraged Lin after being killed by Lin in previous nyk-mavs game, and said
Lin reminded him of Nash, now you told me Kidd is a racist only a few days
later?
honestly, basketball is a man's game, player earns his own credit on the
court, too much bitching only looks sissy.
I never said we shouldn't show our support, nor Lin/asian bball playerdidn't
got discriminated, but that is not a buildin reason for everything! All
those "let the nba hear our voices", gee, it's BASKETBALL!
