Sir — The question of religious belief among US scientists has been debated
since early in the century. Our latest survey finds that, among the top
natural scientists, disbelief is greater than ever — almost total.
Research on this topic began with the eminent US psychologist James H. Leuba

before lots of major scientific discoveries, such as the theory of evolution
, is pointless. The only conclusion a rational person can draw from this
list is that faith comes from the lack of knowledge.
They are great scientists and had made significant contribution to the
development of science for sure. But they were also limited by the state of
