在NCI他更是如鱼得水，他曾是Ira Pastan的博后。资历上也没人能和他比。

position is not very attractive since at least two scientists I know turned
down the offer.
Varmus might be in the search committee at the beginning but had to take the
position since there is no good alternative choice. |
