构NIAID什么的），后面FY Total Cost by IC栏里面的钱是一年的还是几年总共的？
点开以后detail里面有Budget Start Date和Budget End Date，还有Project Start
Date和Project End Date，budget date一般都是跨越一年，然后project是好几年，他
们所说的renew是不是就是每年要审核？过了才继续发钱？那意思就是FY Total Cost
by IC的钱是一年发那么多的咯？

As a fresh PhD student, you probably should worry less about the NIH
funding mechanism, more about other important things.
Nevertheless, most RO1 are in the order of $250K/year DIRECT cost for 4 or
5 years, total of $1M-$1.25M DIRECT cost. Indirect cost is about the same
amount, so the totally shown by NIH is ~$2M-2.5M for one RO1. PI has
discretion spend the money early, i.e. more than 250K per year, as long as
it is justified. It's required to submit annual report and funding is
subject to cut, whatever that means :)
