individuals with strong interests in
protein engineering and basic molecular/cellular mechanisms.
Our lab is focused on protein design and evolution for molecular imaging,
and application to biology. In
particular, we are engineering blue and red-shifted infrared fluorescent
proteins. Part of this work was
published last year in Science. We are also engineering genetically encoded
tags for electron microscopy,
protein and cell photoablation, et al.
We are looking for candidates with strong molecular biology skills. Those
who have background in cell
cycle/mitosis/meiosis in yeast, or early embryo development in model
organisms are especially encouraged to
apply. The work is divided into two phases: protein engineering and
application of engineered protein tags to
specific biological field.
We are located at UCSF mission bay campus. The positions are available
immediately.
