Experimental evidence supports a sex-specific selective sieve in
mitochondrial genome evolution.
Abstract
Mitochondria are maternally transmitted; hence, their genome can only make a
direct and adaptive response to selection through females, whereas males
represent an evolutionary dead end. In theory, this creates a sex-specific
selective sieve, enabling deleterious mutations to accumulate in
mitochondrial genomes if they exert male-specific effects. We tested this
hypothesis, expressing five mitochondrial variants alongside a standard
nuclear genome in Drosophila melanogaster, and found striking sexual
asymmetry in patterns of nuclear gene expression. Mitochondrial polymorphism
had few effects on nuclear gene expression in females but major effects in
males, modifying nearly 10% of transcripts. These were mostly male-biased in
expression, with enrichment hotspots in the testes and accessory glands.
Our results suggest an evolutionary mechanism that results in mitochondrial
genomes harboring male-specific mutation loads.
假设线粒体携带某一基因，导致100%男性死胎，对女性无任何影响。从进化论来说，这个基因是不会被自然选择淘汰的，因为线粒体的基因通过母系遗传。所有携带这一基因的女性，只能繁育女性后代。假设携带此基因的女性比不携带此基因的女性对男性有更强的吸引力。那最终结果就是男性个体从种群中消失，最后整个种群灭绝。进化论似乎不能解释这种现象。
如果这一基因导致100%男性不育，对女性无负面影响，反而能增加携带者对异性的吸引力，那最终结果也会跟第一种假设一样吗？在一夫多妻的社会里，整个种群会消失，这和上一段的假设类似。在一妻多夫的社会里，应该影响不大。对于一夫一妻的社会，对基因携带者有着浓厚兴趣的男性，会被逐渐淘汰，剩余的是对此基因携带者不感兴趣的男性，最终导致基因携带者失去择偶优势，从而也被淘汰。 |

发帖数: 475 | 7 非也非也。你的结论假定男性能够识别出携带正常基因和突变基因的个体，这个还是有
难度的（即使如此，突变体雌性也可以进化出相应的机制模仿正常雌性）。
主要的原因是当雌性比例高时雄性的适合度比较高，这样倾向生男娃的基因就更容易固
定下来。举例来说，如果male:female的比例是1:2的话，一个WSN就能找两个老婆，也
就是说平均来说WSN的适合度是female的两倍，于是生男娃的基因就受到正选择，在种
群中固定下来平衡性别比例。

而且到时候有没有人就是个问题 就算有 男人也不会消失 最多SRY像有袋类一样跑到了

另外，因为环境污染什么的，近几年男性的生殖能力大大下降啊，而且据说
雌化很严重，当然这个和基因上的退化是两码事，虽然最终结果会是一样的。

用，而且都排进下水道，进入公共水体了，里面的progesterone浓度可不低

Y染色体消失有几个很有名的story，目前的理解是Y自身的重组会延长Y的寿命。你看看

这个另：性别决定的办法各个系统的物种都有各自的办法，比如说果蝇就靠比X染色体和
常染色体的基因表达比例，1:1就是公的，2:1就是母的。哺乳动物就靠Y染色体上的特别
基因，比如说人就是SRY。这两个相对来说可能是研究的最清楚的。但是这两种还都是X
Y型的。还有反过来，雄的有俩同样的性染色体的，所谓的ZW型的。当然还有只有一个性
别有性染色体的情形。更不要说还有完全由环境决定性别的动物。。
具体说到有袋类，这个可能还挺复杂的说起来。。Y染色体似乎有作用，但是肯定不是决
定性的和唯一的作用。一般理解可能是Y染色体上的某些基因+常染色体的基因一起决定
性别 后者的作用可能更大

昆虫里面的性别决定我还记得，有袋类那个，听你这么一说，我隐隐记得大学的
