The USC-AAPS student chapter will be hosting the 10th Moving Targets
symposium on Oct 8th, 2011 at the University Park Campus at USC, Los Angeles
, which is being co-organized by the NIA. This symposium will be focused on
the topic of “Aging and Oxidative Stress” this year. We have invited
speakers from the academia, industry, hospital and government agencies, so
it would be a great opportunity for updating the latest knowledge in the
research field of aging and oxidative stress as well as for networking.
The symposium includes a series of lectures by authorities in the field,
round table discussion, poster session and reception at Lucky Strike,
Downtown Los Angeles. The poster session has awards of $1000 each for the
top two posters (The criteria for winning is only good science in any field
and not research in any specific field). The reception includes entry to
Lucky Strike Bowling private party area (Food, Bowling, Pool and Drinks
included).
Most importantly, registration is free for all and includes all of the above
events. More information can be found on our registration website http://itims.usc.edu/MovingTargets2011/. The registration deadline is September 25, 2011. We would like to cordially invite all scientists and researchers from Southern California areas to attend. Please let us know if you have any queries, email us at: m***************[email protected]
Please note: Registration is free but space is limited so please register
fast to avoid being left out. If you are not sure of your poster title
currently, go ahead and register with a relevant title right now. You can
email us at m***************[email protected] to make any changes before September
25th, 2011.
Speakers include:
Felipe Sierra, Director of Aging Biology, National Institutes of Aging (NIH)
Holly Van Remmen, UTAH Health Sciences Center, San Antonio
Christiaan Leeuwenburgh, Director, Metabolism and Biomarkers Core Institute
on Aging
Bruce Ames, Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute, Oakland,
California
