two issues we need to rethink
1) is this hand really that bad and we have to pass? I agree the risk is very
high with this vul. But precisely becuase this vul. east will raise to 4h with
any broke hand. If they r vul., his raise will be more serious.
2) though only 14hcp, but you have very good controls. The only weakness imho
is small heart doublet

usually you will be surprised by wierd split or disappointed by poor hand. :)
we can not guess what will happen for each game.
A general rule is better.

发帖数: 3277 | 8 you can't always expect for perfect hands. Also, do you think you'll
find 5C without the preempt? There are tons of perfect hands which
can produce a game or slam, but bridge is not a game seeking for
perfect fit. If you try to always get the perfect hand, you'll lose
in a long run for sure.
Also, defending 4H would yield you a positive score, that shouldn't be
a bad score in MP or IMP pairs. If you double and partner bids
4S, would you bid again? That would be a totally guessing game,
