though there r many cases that people with biology related phd doing MBA and
get promoted in his career, someone even starts running his own business
i'm currently doing phd at duke,majored in bioinformatics. i'm considering
take some courses from fuqua business school,branch of health care
management.
i wonder what is lz's focus in the MBA degree? actually i have several
friends doing MBA in fuqua and complaining about the course load,lol~ |

MBA is not necessary to be a consultant. But the chances of getting into a
business consulting company will be low without an MBA. Taking certain
business courses may increase your chance. You may also increase your
credential by taking CFA level I exam.
I am thinking about focusing on consulting and marketing, no interest in
finance.
