555 本人文科硕士, 本科和研究生都在985学校,GPA 3.8/4。研究生时考过TOEFL(已
过期),GRE 1300分,2012年6月份过期。
此前我在 500强公司做消费电子产品的marketing,工作2年多,公司不能transfer来美
国。
来美国时比较天真,一方面觉得只要努力还是可以在美国找到不错的工作,另一方面由
于在今年4月份起就请两位关系比较好的老板联系美国总部,看是否可以在美国office
入职。时间一长,保密工作也没做好,我的line manager也知道了,所以在原公司升职
无望,索性辞职来美国碰碰运气。
在美国初来咋到,什么也不熟悉,主要在monster上面投简历,外加朋友圈子里面的公
司可以帮忙推荐的基本都试了一下,几乎没有公司给interview机会。
快到X'MAS,在美国找工作告一段落,只拿到一个很entry-level的offer,公司和工作
都不靠谱。这两周和LG聊了蛮多,他还想在美国呆4-5年,顺便拿到绿卡。但我很想有
个工作,就算后面读书,也想先工作几年积累点经验再读。
目前我想到的有几个方向:
1. 读Accounting / 直接去college补学分,考CPA - 找工作。
优点:一家人在一起,可以生小孩。
缺点:Marketing这条路就放弃了,感觉Accounting不如Marketing有前途,我性格比较
外向,还是对Marketing较感兴趣,感觉Accounting有点枯燥
2. 回中国继续工作,选择某类Marketing 领域,不断积累行业经验,做到Manager。
优点:有自己的career。
缺点:
1)和LG分开较久
2)计划5年内在美国生小孩,就是说3年后,我又要quit工作来美生小孩
3. 读MBA - 找工作
优点:对marketing career有帮助
缺点:
1)湾区好的MBA较难申请,可能还是要分居两地
2)我工作时间较短,自认为目前读MBA还不能深刻理解其精髓
3)MBA学费很贵
4)申请2013.9入学的MBA,中间2年GAP怎么办,回中国继续工作么?
4. 转Computer Science/Statistics...
时间较长,代价较大

in specific industry to be a marketing person in that sector.
Or you can try to find a sales job. But without experience/connections, you
will have to start from the beginning.
I think it's best u do a master degree(none-mba) in marketing in a good
school. Will be much easier to get a job with a US-based degree and the help
of your school's career office (if the school is good). |

读non- MBA 主要是从学费的角度考虑么?
我有听说 B-school 就业是 MSA > MBA > MS(non-mba)。。。
读non-mba 出来找到类marketing工作的概率大概是多少呢?

1)兴趣最重要,如果你不喜欢做cs,statistics别轻易转;
2)最好别两地,就在美国混混再一起回国吧;
3)选master经济上最合算,学费便宜些,有时也短平快;
4)mba你的就业经历足够了,考个好gmat,早去学校转转表决心,申个好mba应该不成
问题。主要是贵,但如果你非常外向能建立好的connection,这mba的附加价值还是很
值的。不说嘛,mba主要就是去认识人的。 |

不错,问题是很多marketing的职位不sponsor h1b |
