Do you think it is because most of people recongnized "web intelligence", or b
ecause it is closly related with "web" and "mining", or because it is co-suppo
rted by "ACM" and "IEEE".
Maybe "Web Intelligence" is a higher level over "web mining", "information ret
riveal" and "semantic web"?? But a lower level under "WWW"?

a new buzzword, it should refers to any technology that can make the web more
intelligent, ie, better to server the end users. Anyway, not matter how you c
all it, the substance is still the same.

In my understanding, if a subject can be seen as a independent research branch
, it must have its own special theory support, which makes it clearly differen
t from others. For example, we can find some association rules, sequential pat
terns with their classic algorithm in Data Mining, and also we can find Eight-
Queens in Artificial Intelligence, and find RDF in semantic web .....
Maybe there is special theory support in "web intelligence", but
