VANCOUVER (AFP) - A Canadian judge here ruled against imposing a sweeping
media gag order on the trial next month of accused serial killer Robert
William Pickton.
Pickton is charged with murdering 26 Vancouver women. The judge divided his
prosecution into two trials, with a jury to hear the first six murder
charges in the trial scheduled to open on January 8 and expected to last a
year.
A second jury trial is expected to follow on the remaining 20 charges
against Pickton.
