The popular SMS messaging service for Android devices, Hangouts, is going to
be removed by Google as part of their “Spring cleaning.” Google today
announced that they will be axing the SMS texting part of the application
and recommend the replacement messaging service Android messages. Before the
termination date, Google will be sending out messages through the
application to tell the user to switch SMS messaging apps. The end date for
Hangouts will be May 22nd, after that date you will not be able to send or
receive SMS texts.
Google Voice and Google Fi users will remain unaffected by this development
as Hangouts will still work fine for them. This altering of the Hangouts app
comes after Google’s plan to make Hangouts into a workplace communication
tool, similar to the Slack application. |

uts方便。
还没有试过Voice app，准备等换了新电话再装。可以拨电话吗？接电话？虽然极少用
到，但是还是希望有这项功能。

能用hangout当default message app了。hangout还是可以收发gv的短信。
当初推hangout的时候就是故意阉割了google voice app的功能，逼着大家用hangout。
比如gv
app曾经一直不能发mms。要是再把voip加进来就可以扔掉hangout了。 |

1 call with carrier number via carrier voice
2 call with gv number via carrier voice
3 call with gv number via voip

发帖数: 3256 | 12 没死，就是又回到从前了。运营商短信换回系统自己的app.
voice肯定先“死”，但也不是直接取消，估计会跟hangout整合，现在两个分开确实很
乱。

域名的账号，下次打开再要输入，不胜其烦，我还是换回了老版，虽然只能登录一个账

hangouts的目的了,为啥要另其灶炉?估计gv码农早被开调鸟。 |

账号正常。
