Senior Research Engineer (2 Open positions)
Samsung Information Systems America (SISA) is searching for a high caliber
Senior Research Engineer for its soon-to-open lab in Cambridge, MA, USA.
The candidate should possess material modeling expertise in solid state
chemistry and physics and preferred to have more than 2 year post-doctorate
experience.
The candidate will be responsible for conducting in-depth modeling research
on new battery chemistries, managing joint R&D projects, establishing new
research directions in alliance with outside partners. He/she will
collaborate with other Samsung teams, specifically Samsung Advanced
Institute of Technology (SAIT) and other technical communities.
Responsibilities:
Execute R&D projects independently and in collaboration with
other entities within Samsung and with partnering organizations.
Work efficiently independently and with others toward critical
research corporate goals.
Maintain high reporting standards, assuring proper technical
documentation for assigned projects/tasks within department policies and
procedures.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
Doctorate degree in Engineering or Science (Materials Science,
Chemistry, physics, etc.) related to modeling of electrochemical materials
for energy systems.
Post-graduate experience in energy materials modeling.
Experience with modeling tools for ab-inito calculation such as
DFT, Mete Carto, etc
Experience and deep familiarity with physical properties of
battery materials.
Be diligent, self-motivated and self-directed, and able to multi
-task various projects in a fast-paced, highly creative environment.
Be a demonstrated team player with good communication skills (in
English) to work with various organizations and teams both inside and
outside Samsung. |
