这个就是通常所说的green shoe insurance, 上市公司支付保险，确保当日不破发。几
乎这两年来美国上市的中国企业都会买保险的。RENN, DANG, DATE, YOKU,TODU无一例
外。
中国人好面子，所以都会买这个保险。而seller 就是那些underwriters,他们必须确保
不破发，否则就要赔钱。以FB的价格和市值，陪起来的代价肯定数额巨大。所以无论如
何一定不能破发。否则必须有人要滚蛋。
别忘了，Mark的女友是我们老中后代，所以选择 518, 我要发 这天上市，哈哈。

UNDERWRITER无关。

可能是他们为了能够有更多的cash在手上而抛出来的，这样才能够有更多的资金。不一
定亏。

The underwriters function as the broker of these shares and find buyers
among their clients. A price for the shares is determined by agreement
between the company and the buyers. One responsibility of the lead
underwriter in a successful offering is to help ensure that once the shares
begin to publicly trade, they do not trade below the offering price.
When a public offering trades below its offering price, the offering is said
to have "broke issue" or "broke syndicate bid". This creates the perception
of an unstable or undesirable offering, which can lead to further selling
and hesitant buying of the shares. To manage this possible situation, the
underwriter initially oversells ("shorts") to their clients the offering by
an additional 15% of the offering size.

the short position, not long using their own money.
I googled and found the volume at 38 and 38.01 total to 70 million shares.
That is 7 million more than the sum of the short position of 63m
shares
