placements. 他说他孩子那届不如往年，princeston和mit都比正常的时候少。唯一一
个拿到MIT admission的去了UCberkeley。没办法，在aurora的IMSA每年拿10个左右MIT
admissions,其他IL学校不可能不受影响。anyway, 不需要考试而且生源主要来自于人
口只有17k小town的hinsdale central beat 从 2.7M人口中择优选拔出来的chicago
selective HS几条街没有异议吧。

hills or east westmont, they goes to Hinsdale central and price is really

if you plan to buy a house and have a pretty decent budget, choose north
shore or hinsdale. if you budget is a bit tight like <500K, u can either
choose westmont's ashford subdivision/surrounding areas(hinsdale central HS)
or naperville with good schools and newer&nicer houses if commuting to work
is not an issue for you. good luck.

county line is cook county, the closer to downtown, the higher the tax is (
land is assesessed 20-30% higher forget the exact amount) also many people
does not dispute property tax since either too lazy or want to sell house

PROPERTY TAX属于CITY那一块。

oakbrook mall贡献税收,所以居民交的地产税比hinsdale要少一些.naperville有中西
部最大的中文学校ray chinese school,俩校区,一两千孩子周末上课学中文.有不少住
hinsdale的华人送孩子到ray school上课. 那除了中文有很多其他课,篮球,武术,舞蹈,
画画,math count,成人拉丁舞...

学校很好， 交通差不多， 房子稍微大点。 Old money和律师少点。
Oak brook 的小学也不错， 唯一不好就是老头太多了，娃没有玩伴。

1. 学校里有30% asian,居然比naperville还高。这个没想到。
2. 小学一个班19个孩子，有俩老师。teacher/student ratio比好私立还低。小学每天
都有作业。如果小孩miss一次homework,老师马上打电话到家里，如果家长没接到，一
封很严肃的平信就会寄来。这比naperville要严格的多。
3. school gift program里的孩子每个quarter都要重新考试评估，这点和其他学区的
天才班可能不同。
4. oakbrook没有自己的高中。如果房子的第一任owner当初脑袋被门挤了,选了downers
grove或者elmhust high school，从那之后的每任房主孩子都只能去当初选得学校，
不能上hinsdale central. 这个比较shocking. 两家类似相邻的房子，价格因此可能会
差几十万。
5. 税好低，同样价格的房子，property tax只有naperville的30-40%.
6. 社区很nice,但老房子maintain真贵，朋友的房子25年了,八万多换了个roof。

Asian 包括Indian。 我连AGent都碰到了2个印度人。
不过那里低税，地大， 如果可以忍受寂寞， 还是可以的， 但是你就算了， 打牌都只
有和旁边的老头打。

for 1M budget, you will only get a 25-30 year-old home with original
finishes.
you would be suprised that most home owners in Oakbrook are very frugal.
they don't like to put any money to update their homes. they don't replace
the roof even if it is time to do it.

贵。 像OB,HD,都不能建造简单的roof line的房子了， city通不过。。。

二代老印不少。
brook forest/butler（53）学区只管oak brook的一部分而已，而这个学区的全部去
hinsdale central。基本上只有york woods，brook forest，trinity lake，old oak
brook，fullersburg，hunter trail几个小区全部属于53学区，其它的包括巨贵的
midwest club都只有一部分处于53学区内。
oak brook老印多老中少是因为花一个米的老中都愿意买新房子了，谁还要住二三十年
的老房子。但是人家老印无所谓。一个米在hinsdale，clarendon hills有的是3000尺
的新房子可选，在oak brook根本没有。
其实愿意住老房子的话，五六十万在53学区也不是买不到，那些六七十年代的房子看着
可比hinsdale同样价位的房子宽敞多了。 |

上的好几个房子房子都在扒了重建。

if you plan to buy a house and have a pretty decent budget, choose north
shore or hinsdale. if you budget is a bit tight like <500K, u can either
choose westmont's ashford subdivision/surrounding areas(hinsdale central HS)
or naperville with good schools and newer&nicer houses if commuting to work
is not an issue for you. good luck.

county line is cook county, the closer to downtown, the higher the tax is (
land is assesessed 20-30% higher forget the exact amount) also many people
does not dispute property tax since either too lazy or want to sell house

oakbrook mall贡献税收,所以居民交的地产税比hinsdale要少一些.naperville有中西
部最大的中文学校ray chinese school,俩校区,一两千孩子周末上课学中文.有不少住
hinsdale的华人送孩子到ray school上课. 那除了中文有很多其他课,篮球,武术,舞蹈,
画画,math count,成人拉丁舞...

学校很好， 交通差不多， 房子稍微大点。 Old money和律师少点。
Oak brook 的小学也不错， 唯一不好就是老头太多了，娃没有玩伴。

1. 学校里有30% asian,居然比naperville还高。这个没想到。
2. 小学一个班19个孩子，有俩老师。teacher/student ratio比好私立还低。小学每天
都有作业。如果小孩miss一次homework,老师马上打电话到家里，如果家长没接到，一
封很严肃的平信就会寄来。这比naperville要严格的多。
3. school gift program里的孩子每个quarter都要重新考试评估，这点和其他学区的
天才班可能不同。
4. oakbrook没有自己的高中。如果房子的第一任owner当初脑袋被门挤了,选了downers
grove或者elmhust high school，从那之后的每任房主孩子都只能去当初选得学校，
不能上hinsdale central. 这个比较shocking. 两家类似相邻的房子，价格因此可能会
差几十万。
5. 税好低，同样价格的房子，property tax只有naperville的30-40%.
6. 社区很nice,但老房子maintain真贵，朋友的房子25年了,八万多换了个roof。

Asian 包括Indian。 我连AGent都碰到了2个印度人。
不过那里低税，地大， 如果可以忍受寂寞， 还是可以的， 但是你就算了， 打牌都只
有和旁边的老头打。

for 1M budget, you will only get a 25-30 year-old home with original
finishes.
you would be suprised that most home owners in Oakbrook are very frugal.
they don't like to put any money to update their homes. they don't replace
the roof even if it is time to do it.

midwest club都只有一部分处于53学区内。
oak brook老印多老中少是因为花一个米的老中都愿意买新房子了，谁还要住二三十年
的老房子。但是人家老印无所谓。一个米在hinsdale，clarendon hills有的是3000尺
的新房子可选，在oak brook根本没有。
其实愿意住老房子的话，五六十万在53学区也不是买不到，那些六七十年代的房子看着
可比hinsdale同样价位的房子宽敞多了。 |

,大家看看就行. 当然,我不否认努力奋斗事在人为. 不过很多事还是要考运气的. 所以
不必看太重,万一落选也不必太在意.
就像各位家长,很多不是名校毕业,也在美国做得非常成功. 要相信自己的孩子,他们的
起点已经比我们高很多,不论走哪条路都会有出息. 读什么书不是目的,上什么学校也不
是目的. 目的是快乐上进正直的人生.
我们女儿溜冰倒数第二,我LG说,很好,没有最后一名. 她溜到队伍中间,他说很有进步.
她到第二个,他说非常好! 估计就算最后一名,他也会说,你有最大的上升空间. 不论怎
