Few from state — even grads of top high schools — attend elite Eastern
universities
Only three of the schools had more than 2 percent of their graduating class
attending Ivies: Northside College Prep, a selective-enrollment school in
Chicago; Hinsdale Central High School in DuPage County; and New Trier, on
the North Shore.
At the U. of C. Laboratory Schools, 14 of 120 students — about 12 percent
of the graduating class of 2012 — went to Ivies, according to a tally by
the student newspaper.
At the public Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, about 8
percent of the graduating class of 195 enrolled in Ivy League schools.
After nearly 30 years as a counselor at Stevenson, Bob Foltin said he's "
overwhelmed by what it takes to get in" to an Ivy League school, adding, "I
can't really find rhyme or reason as to who gets in."
In all, 12 students at the school enrolled in the Ivy League, about 1
percent of the graduating class of 2012. One of them was Devon Naftzger, who
went to Princeton.
"From a school like Stevenson," Naftzger said, "you would expect there to be
more."

标 题: 伊州和麻省高中毕业生上top college对比和疑问

lexington在麻省算不错的学校，比它好或者差不多的public high school 好像还挺多
，dover，newton, weston, welleley,belmont....新英格兰地区私立牛校就更多了，
matriculation都比UC Lab强一大截。
hinsdale central是illinois比较稳定的好学区了。只有给芝大教授开的私立高中UC
Lab school和全州招生考试录取一堆nerd的Illinois math & science academy的
matriculation 能保证一直比hinsdale central强。其他几个被热衷的好学区，new
trier，stevenson，deerfiled，naperville的三学校和芝加哥的几个需要考试但AA的
学校，查了历史录取记录最好的时候基本也就是和hinsdal central相当，好也好不了
太多。
这俩学校学生成绩也差不多，家庭平均收入也差不多，为什么毕业生差别怎么就这么大
呢？娃还在上小学，朋友圈还不够丰富，上高中和大学的有经验家长们给解解惑？
