Hinsdale Central High不错，在usnews里全美排名332， 但是离上班的地方开车要一
个小时。看了一下Naperville的三所高中，在usnews里的排名都不高。Central是1059
名，North是977名，Neuqua是959名。附近的Glenbard West High 还排名445。 不是说
中国人多的地方学校排名都高吗？为什么Naperville的高中排名都很低呢？ |

AP participation rate – the number of 12th-grade students in the 2014-2015
academic year who took at least one AP test before or during their senior
year, divided by the total number of 12th-graders at the school – and how
well the students performed on those tests.
The latter part, called the quality-adjusted AP participation rate, is the
number of 12th-grade students in the 2014-2015 academic year who took and
passed *** received an AP score of 3 or higher *** at least one AP test
before or during their senior year, divided by the number of 12th-graders at
that school.
For the CRI, the quality-adjusted AP participation rate was weighted 75
percent in the calculation, and the simple AP participation rate was
weighted 25 percent.

The goal of this project was to identify common effective practices for
getting a wider range of students ready for college. We have synthesized our
findings into a self-evaluation tool—the College Readiness Evaluation for
Students and Teachers—which will help high schools determine how well they
are addressing the four dimensions of college readiness. Schools do the self
-evaluation by having teachers, counselors, and administrators complete an
online instrument. This input generates a report listing the areas in which
the school could improve college readiness practices, an explanation of why
the highlighted areas are important, and which activities the school should
undertake first. Also included are links to a range of proven resources that
the school can use to get started on an improvement plan.
By learning from a set of best-practice high schools, all high schools can
begin to move in the right direction, emphasizing the knowledge, skills,
dispositions, programs, and practices necessary for all students to be
successful in postsecondary educational settings. |
