Very few countries has such diverse geographical condition
as CHina. Also,
very few countries has as many as nationalites as in CHina.
So, folk music, which is a major cultural activities in
original people's life,
found a very rich tradition in CHina.Almost in every
province, every town,
CHinese people have huge numbers of folk music,including
vocal songs, instrumentation

It maintains the music style of folk music.
Also the pop music now is geting some ideas from the folk music.
e.g. Zheng4 Jun1's "Tian1 Xia4 Mei2 You3 bu2 san4 de yan4 xi2",etc.
They simulated some melody and rythem from these folk music.
But one fact does exict, that there is a tendency of mordenization.
I don't know if it will be the main flow of music in China.
and I also don't know if there is the Chinese music as you mentioned.
