This national park is in the middle of Colorado. Driving time from Denver is
4-6 hours depending on the routes.
It was raining in the afternoon when I arrived. Steep canyon hid in the rain
and mist. But I liked the clouds and rainbow.
Camped in the park.
Next day the morning sun painted a golden hue on the canyon walls.
Gunnison river thunders at 2000 feet below, continueing its millons of years
of sculpting the canyon. |

Great view of stars at night, and a shooting star.
I drove a circle. CO-285 to CO-50 to CO-92 to CO-133 to CO-82 to I70. Loved
it all the way. |

Went there couple years back. Drove down to the bottom, but hadn't got too
much time to explore the canyon floor. It's scale-down model of Grand Canyon.

Pass on CO-50 (my favorite, by the ski resort); McClure on CO-133; Vail Pass
and Loveland Pass on I-70.

发帖数: 154 | 8 Thanks. I am thinking of driving to Black Canyon On Oct11-12, but worry the
new snow will increase the difficulty to drive.
Last year when I drove through the independent pass in the end of September.
The weather was bad, mixed snow/rain, slippery road next to the cliff.

listed above.
Check weather before you go. Put on snow tires if there is rain/snow in the
forecast. |

It was cloudy at low elevation.
