As expected, Barbara Walters announced Wednesday on "The View" that Whoopi
Goldberg will replace Rosie O'Donnell as moderator for the daytime show.
Goldberg is expected to start Sept. 4, when "View" begins its 11th season.
"I have known Whoopi for years," Walters said. "She is brilliant, funny and
irrepressible, and is an enormously popular and talented star."
