comp. we placed well at tufts last weekend, but didn't even make it to the
semi-final in intl latin at yale the week before. i got quite pissed when
we didn't get call backs for semi-final in the intl latin session, and was
complaining to some advanced dancers. they told us that to get call backs
and make cut for the first a few rounds, better dance close to the judges

a lot of factors count rather how well a person dances, that's true.

appears to not be exactly the same issue.
while checking dancesportinfo.net, I have noticed that some pros of pretty
high level (say, US national top 15 or 20 in major comps) went to UK open or
blackpool to dance pro rising star latin and pro latin. As their visibility
(maybe the word 'familarity' is better here) to judges was low since they
were new to the EU comps, their placements all of a sudden dropped and

rounds of college bronze/silver comp, more than 20 couples on the floor at
the same time...
The most effective way to improve your visibility is, well, to improve your
dancing, improve your posture and movement. Believe me, that shows, even in
the crowd. Of course, it's also the hardest way, dancing takes time to
improve. So you are using the easier way: put on more makeup, have a better
hair-do, use bright costume, and pu

...especially with only you and your teacher in the clip doing the same
figures. i immediately see what i didn't do right.
