Job Description
Senior Data Scientist
This position is for a Senior Data Scientist to join a growing data science
team working on improving the product, ads sales, recommendation engine,
radio models and building new features and products through machine learning
and complex algorithms.
Requirements:
Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Physics,
Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar)
3+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning, predictive modeling,
and statistical analysis techniques in a business environment
5+ years of hands-on experience with a programming languages such as java,
python, C++
Experience with a variety of leading analytics platforms and modeling
packages (e.g., Python, R, SAS, KXEN, etc.)
Hands on experience with distributed data aggregation and processing using
Flume, Hadoop, HDFS, and other MapReduce inspired technologies
Extensive experience with large scale databases, SQL, stored procedures and
database optimization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment and maintain
high productivity
Ability to devise creative technical solutions that scale with growing data
sets
Additional Considerations:
Experience with leading data analytics vendors such as Vertica, Greenplumb,
and Aster
Experience with NoSQL databases, MongoDB and Cassandra |
