As you may already know we just kicked off our Chase Community Giving
Program for 2012! As past winners you have come to learn the benefits of
participating in Chase Community Giving and we would love for you to spread
the word to your partner organizations who haven’t participated in the past.
As in the past, the goal of this year’s program is to reach small and local
charities doing great work in the communities they serve. The difference in
this year’s program is there will be a nomination period. Chase customers
and employees can nominate their favorite charities by visiting www.
chasegiving.com from June 12 to July 9. Eligible charities have a 501(c)(3)
designation, annual operating expenses of less than $10 million and meet the
criteria listed in the Program Rules. When the nomination period closes,
all eligible charities will receive an invitation to participate in the
voting portion of the program, which runs from September 6 through September
19. Those that accept their invitation to participate by August 30 will
share equally in $2.5 million in grants and move on to the voting round. The
rest of the charities will have until September 19 to accept the invitation
if they want an opportunity to be one of the 196 eligible charities that
receive a share of an additional $5 million in grants at the end of the
voting phase. The $5 million in grants will be distributed as follows:
# of Grants Amount
· One (1): $250,000
· Ten (10): $100,000
· Thirty-five (35): $50,000
· Fifty (50): $20,000
· One hundred (100): $10,000
Nominations open tomorrow – remember you can nominate as many charities as
you like! Thank you for being a champion for this innovative program by
spreading the word to your network and encouraging participation.
Warmly,
Kimberly B. Davis

The Nonprofit Times: Chase To Award $7.5 Million In Grants
About Chase Community Giving
Chase Community Giving leverages the power of social media to crowdsource
how charitable dollars should be allocated. This program was developed by
Chase to complement its charitable giving, which totals over $150 million
annually. Chase Community Giving relies on its nearly 3.5 million fans to
help decide which local nonprofits should receive grant money from Chase.
Since its inception in 2009, CCG fans have helped Chase award over $20
million to over 500 local charities across 41 states, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
