create another internet zone on top of your intranet,and expose this
internet zone to the public. Just use a reverse proxy server in your DMZ and
setup the SSL, you are good to go. |

application is located in web server. Sharepoint server is open for internal
users after VPN. I am not familiar with sharepoint stuff.
I wonder if our .net application's users can access the sharepoints files
without VPN through our web application.
they do not want to have sharepoints files exposed to public.
Is it possible?

在sharepoint服务器上共享文件夹，给你新服务器的aspnet用户访问权限就可以了。
