The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records
establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required
investigation into your background remains open.
Until the background investigation is completed, we cannot move forward on
your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all
applicants who apply for the immigration |

PD retrogressed and not until 2 years later did it become current again.
So I wrote to the white house. It worked.

发帖数: 9 | 6 background check includes 3 parts: IBIS Name Check, FBI finger print check,
and FBI name check. Usually it is the FBI name check that takes very long.
In 2008 USCIS published a memo stating if name check is pending for 180 days
, green card can be issued without the result of name check.
Since my 485 has been pending for 3 years, I don't understand why background
check is still a problem.

long wait and can't see the end of it. I contacted senator and got the same
information.
Is there a way to push for background check ? How to know if background
check's result? |

should find it by google. I saw that before. It basically talks that if the
background has not done, the visa can't be granted and, the 2008 memo should
not be used anymore since the NC is much faster at that time. However, if
the FBI NC is delayed by more than 180 days (or 90 days I can't remember
exactly now) the USCIS shall push FBI to fast the process. In addition,
USCIS and FBI target to finish 98% NC within 30 days, |
