标 题: 急问 我的H1B期限怎么了

我的第一份工作 第一份I797上的期限是10/1/2008-8/15/2011 （活生生少了1个半月）
然后我09年5月换了工作 第二份i797上的期限变成7/14/2009-4/19/2011
我准备再换工作transfer H1b的时候才发现的
问题
1现在如果办H1B transfer 期限会到哪天
2不是一般3年renew一次么 那我现在是不是该开始renew了
3现在有的期限明显短了半年， 那我这半年去哪里补， 还可以补么
4难道我在6年里需要延两次？
5我该去找原来的律师呢，还是现在的律师可以帮我解决
有点郁闷
感觉够闹腾的

You can ask for 3 years H1b and you will get it. Then you can extend it to maximum 6 years unless: you have submitted PERM/140 and they are pending for over a year or your 140 approved but cannot submit 485 due to PD not current. in this case, you can further extend h1b beyond 6-year limit. |

难道大家6年的H1B时效都是file超过一次extension的么？

PD not current. in this case, you can further extend h1b beyond 6-year
limit.

所以横竖我的情况 H1B是10/1/2008生效的所以最终expiration date应该是9/30/2014

那我觉得我原来的律师还是缺德了
哪有办H1B tranfer只给一年的

没有公司的意思 公司木有跟律师联系过 就那个律师太坏了。。。

I believe the lawyer wanted to make more money by only applying for one year
instead of three. Most lawyer charge fees based on service provided EACH
time so if your company didn't specify, he/she will chop it up to benefit
him/herself more. Just my guess.
Back to your h1b, I assume you'll do GC sometime later. When the time to
extend h1b, if your I-140 approved, you apply extension for another 3 years.
If PERM or 140 pending, then apply 6 months not used in your H1b PLUS 1
year extension beyond 6-year limit. I did exactly that and got approved back
a couple of years ago.
