could be suspended or slowed.
Some U.S. immigration operations could be suspended or delayed if the House
and Senate are unable to pass a spending bill to avert a federal shutdown
after September 30. Government departments have not yet announced concrete
plans for a closure, but employers and foreign nationals should be prepared
for delays in immigration services if a spending agreement is not reached.
Immigration functions not considered essential services could be suspended
throughout a shutdown. Services that are essential or are funded by user
fees could stay open but might be delayed, especially if they are dependent
on functions that are suspended. | n***s 发帖数: 10056 | 2 When is the shutdown? Oct 1st? My understanding is USCIS is funded by us not
by federal government. Maybe some other functions like DOL (PERM),
immigration through consulate, etc. | n***s 发帖数: 10056 | 3 Oh, saw it mentioned after 09/30. I am still gonna mail my 485 out on Oct

Stopgap Fix
Ends Impasse
On Budget
A budget deadlock that had raised the risk of a federal government shutdown
was broken Monday, as the Senate approved a short-term funding measure and t
he House appeared likely to follow suit.
