card, your next new employer will not accept it. Why do you want that line
on your SSN card? If you will never change job, you do need to change it.

发帖数: 10056 | 9 They did. I made a copy of new SSN card but they said we will no longer use
SSN to reduce identity theft. But I just don't like that you know what line.
The new SSN card looks much better. Also, FL renew driver license requires
to show SSN card too. I may have trouble getting multiple year license over
one year one. Anyway, it's free and it eliminates any potential negative
effect that line may bring. It's a no brainer to me.

EMPLOYER，卡片上注明好像是“VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" 新的
SSN 卡片上没有这行字，说是可以为任何雇主工作，没有限制。其实换卡很容易的，10
来分钟2个人就都搞定了。不过我是附申请人，新卡1周之内就收到了，我LD是主申请人
，反而等了3周。 |

政府规定好像是工作许可承认3类还是多少文件
1. 护照,
2. SSN
3. EAD 卡
4. 绿卡
等等都是等同的.
如果有空,换了也行,没有时间,不换也可一.

你的上一个贴子就有些不是很确实了.
至于换驾照,没有FL生活经历,不知道是他们业务不熟还是怎么回事.

Types of Social Security Cards.
We issue three types of Social Security cards. All cards show your name and
Social Security number.
1.Shows your name and Social Security number and lets you work without
restriction. We issue it to:
◦U.S. citizens; and
◦People lawfully admitted to the United States on a permanent basis.
2.Shows your name and number and notes, “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS
AUTHORIZATION.” We issue this type of card to people lawfully admitted to
the United States on a temporary basis who have DHS authorization to work.
3.Shows your name and number and notes, “NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT.”
We issue it to people from other countries:
◦Who are lawfully admitted to the United States without work
authorization from DHS, but with a valid nonwork reason for needing a Social
Security number; or
◦Who need a number because of a federal law requiring a Social
Security number to get a benefit or service.

Before 2004, the SSN card used the legend "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS
AUTHORIZATION".
Since 2004, the legend has been changed to "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS
AUTHORIZATION".

don't need to change your SSN card if your current card has that DHS line.
That guide is for someone totally new to the country, like people who won GC
lottery.
