It ays that econometrics is by no means the same as economic statistics.
And it gives out the definition of econometrics later on the same page:
Econometrics is the field of economics that concerns itself with the
application of mathematical statistics and the tools of statistical inference
to the empirical measurement of relationships postulated by economic theory.
This definition still gives me the feeling that econometrics is economic
