Amazon, and found two books which may fit in this category (both were
written by Harvard professors):
Global Capitalism: Its Fall and Rise in the Twentieth Century, by Jeffry
Frieden
The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World, by Niall Ferguson
I just requested a loan of the first book from my local library. The second
book is so hot in the library that 90+ people are waiting in line for merely
