Hot -- Sexy
Chicks use "cute" to say about a guy more often. It is not as formal as good-looking
or handsome. Cute can be proped out quite informally, it is sort of saying
"i am attracted to him" and he doesnt have be handsome.
Guys use "hot" a lot, cute is too girly for guys. | f****n

it implies that the person who gives the comments kinda likes him.
while handsome doesn't always mean lovely, it's just a fact.
so usually guys prefer cute over handsome.
