发帖数: 12883 | 2 主要是ucsd的教授们funding都很充足, 每年上缴的钱比自己从学校拿的工资多,
这样的情况要减薪10%自然很火大.所以才有23个系主任联署建议关闭其他分校.
其实加州当年钱多得花不完的时候新建分校是不负责任的. 应该把花不完的钱
存起来作为州立大学的储备资金, 应付以后灾年使用. 而新建了分校是每年
都要投钱进去的, 即使加州要破产了,也得往分校投钱.

。。。
不过加大的确是已经浪费太多的加州人民的民脂民膏了。。。所以关闭或者fire一些，
加州人民估计没有意见。不过ucsd 也没啥牛X的，如果真牛，就独立去变成私立大学
好了。。。自給自足。谁也不会去砍你的10%的薪水。

发帖数: 12883 | 7 ucsd每年的funding只有18%来自ca state. 每年从nsf拿的钱比berkeley都多.
ca state每年给UC十个分校总共也就3B. 比给非法移民报销的医疗费少多了.
Medi-Cal每年要花掉加州30%的budget, 36B. 给非法移民花掉的医疗费用,
再加非法移民在美国生十来个孩子每年领取的生活补助, 够养好几倍 UC了.
Berkeley自己的funding也非常足, 很多教授在10%cut下要另谋高就呢.
其实UC的大部分分校如果转成私立,一点生存危机都没有, 只不过这些学校
是state的资产, state不会放他们变成私立的.

独立变私立好了. ucsd自己可是没有说过要私立.
我说的是ucsd是加州资产, 不是独立了没能力养活自己,而是公立资产不可以独立,
有错吗?

发帖数: 12883 | 14 不过我觉得老美是做事比较绝的, 不愿意自己减薪,居然就动议去关别人的
campus, 让别人整个校园得丢饭碗.
有其他人动议UC允许被减薪的faculty用自己的funding来补足被减的部分,
补足博士后被减的部分, 这样的建议比较厚道, 没有对他人的伤害性.

说明这个提议在ucsd内部就不是很受欢迎.
