Shenzhen: $127
Shanghai: $125
Beijing: $95
What can one really eat with that much money?! If this is true, I wish that
none of the conferences held in China would provide meals so we could all
claim per diems then.
Does it seem to be more believable for them to be in Yuan but not in dollars
? Can anyone confirm? |

cities in the world for employees of foreign companies working there.

l******8 发帖数: 3 | 3 The same school's rate: DC is only $64 per day. My experience is that DC's
food is way more expensive but worse than Beijing's. I am talking about
Chinese food of course, which may cause some bias. But still...

than that of domestic travels. The rates are given by the federal
government, I think (but not 100% sure).

yourself. Beijing's M&IE (meal per diem) is $95 ($101 for Fall season). Here

l******8 发帖数: 3 | 6 I want to visit schools in Guangzhou and Shanghai more than ever now. I
would also like to pay for my own meals if they don't mind. That way a visit
of 10 days would probably earn me more than $1,000. Sounds like a great
deal!

w******t 发帖数: 1422 | 9 take advantage on this - ask for per diem for yourself when you visit china
.of course, $ comes from you funding, |
T*********r 发帖数: 11175 | 10 if it were in CNY, that's nothing...
I was visiting Beijing last month, staying at one institute under CAS.
They paid something like CNY. 450 per day.
If I used my own funding, it would be JPY 12500 per day.
that
dollars
