职位是从七月份或八月份开始的话，我应该如何处理五月底到职位开始这之间身份上的

发帖数: 244 | 2 i had the same problem last year: got the offer in jan., h1b expires in mid
may, and new job starts in aug
(because i had to spend part of startup by the end of aug).
i filed an h1-b extension in march, and received a new i797 before the old
one expires.
upon receiving the new i797, i started the h1-b transfer to the new
institution.
note during the h1-b transfer, you have to stay put - i cancelled my
conference trip to canada.
