However, without greater insight into the mechanism by which XXX act, and
which (groups of) bacteria are involved in the phenotype, we feel that
consideration of the paper for peer review would be premature.
Should future experimental data allow you to further address these areas we
would be happy to look at a revised manuscript (unless, of course, something
similar has by then been accepted at Nature or appeared elsewhere). In the
case of eventual publication, the received date would be that of the revised
paper.
